Best Hotels in Mandalay
Only 3 but good enough
Most of our itineraries focus less on Mandalay city itself, yet ancient towns nearby are more interesting. Hotels in Mandalay, in a sense, are just a place to crash for the night and we have 3 picks.

How Are the Hotels in Mandalay
- Most are fairly mediocre with not much to surprise you. Good enough for a couple of nights, though. Plus, rooms are bigger than hotels in Yangon and Bagan.
- Hotels of more than 50 rooms often cater for big groups and we’d prefer something in smaller scale and more personal services.
- Most hotels are around the Royal Palace in downtown, some boutique hotels can be found by Mandalay Hill. For a short stay we suggest something in downtown for better mobility.
3 Best Hotels in Mandalay
Mandalay itself is somehow devoid of the old and innocent ambience that you can feel in other places. It’s more like a modern commercial city in its early stage. We are going for those hotels with the best value possible.
Apex Hotel, Mandalay
Built in 2017 and open in 2018, Hotel Apex Mandalay has soon be the town’s limelight for leisure and business travelers. After two stays there, we can say for sure it fits most travelers’ needs for a nice stay: spacious rooms, great lighting, classical decoration and atmosphere, plus a great location at the heart of Mandalay. Rooms accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children, which makes it our first choice for family travelers. Breakfast is great in variety and taste. Fun to stroll around its neighborhood or chill by the pool.
