Although I’ve taken many great point-and-shoot pictures while traveling in some failry exotic places, I’ve also been disappointed when the beauty and richness of my experience wasn’t captured. Coming to China for the first time, I wanted to ensure that didn’t happen. I purchased an entry level Canon DLSR beforehand but knew I’d need instruction on how to get the most of it.
Guilin Photograpy went above and beyond my expectations. Mia arranged a private, personalized tour tailored to my interests and skills. She matched me with
Greg, an easy going English-speaking professional photographer, highly knowledgeable about Canons who patiently taught me about good composition and the best settings in my camera controls for different types of shots. George, a native assigned as our driver, was a boon to have on the tour, not only his fluency in English and the local language, but also for his familiarity of the area, the rapport with the fishermen, and his own eye for great photography. With lots of energy and good humor, he helped guide both me and the fisherman, Black Beard, into just the right spots and various poses. Between George and Greg they made an incredible team who helped me take amazing photos in what turned out to be, in my opinion, the most beautiful area in the country. I also gained the knowledge to take more photos of this caliber in the future.
These are conscientious professionals who have thought through the needs of their customers, will provide detailed instructions on what to bring, how to pack, and will take care of you all throughout the tour to ensure it is a remarkable experience. As a solo traveler, I found this to be priceless.
