We did a 3 day photo tour with Guilin Photo Tours in September 2105. From the initial contact following a recommendation of a friend, we found Mia to be most helpful and prompt with replies to our queries. They suggested an initial itinerary built around our travel plans and interests, and with a couple of small variations, we settled on the the itinerary suggested. They are very flexible and will design an itinerary especially for each tour – the web based questionnaire is brilliant in making sure customers get the trip best suited to their interests. The information on the well designed website was very helpful and accurate.
By starting early and finishing late, we found we could fit in as much as most tours would take in twice the time! They had amazing knowledge that ensured we went to the best locations quickly and effortlessly. We had Mia as our guide, and this proved to be a real highlight as the fantastic relationship she had with the local people made all the difference. The respect she had for, and received from everybody we came in contact with was inspirational, and made all the difference in getting great shots of locals in their natural environment – from being guests in a local village house whilst the family cooked a meal, to authentic cormorant fishermen, we felt honoured and privileged to be treated as friends by all we came in contact with. The small boutique hotels that GPT selected for us were wonderful. Photographic advice and help was greatly appreciated. Everything was brilliantly organised and the three days we spent with GPT was the highlight of our four week trip through China.
