In heading to Shenzhen for a business trip, I was looking to get outside of the city for a long weekend. In researching areas around China, the Guilin/Yangshuo area immediately stuck out to me for its sheer beauty and intriguing landscape. Upon determining what I would do there, I came across this Guilin Photography tour.
First of all, their website and ability to outline your main interests was beyond helpful and easy. Second, the amount of thorough and timely communication was outstanding. These two pieces alone made me decision to go with Guilin Photography tour a no brainer.
Upon setting foot in Guilin airport, my experience was a once in a lifetime adventure. As a solo traveler, it was great to have such a flexible and knowledgeable (and a great photographer as well!) tour guide as I had in Greg. From seeing the Longji rice fields, the sunset setting amongst the Karst mountains with reflections off the rice patties, the mountain hikes with some of the greatest panoramic images I’ve ever witnessed, and the unforgettable experience within the Cormorant Fishermen houses and subsequent time with them fishing at sunset, I cant say enough positive things about the tour. At first I considered it slightly more expensive than I wanted to spend on a long weekend tour, but when you take into account the fantastic accommodations which Mia and co. set up, all of the transportation involved, and the fantastic schedule and overall experience, it was truly worth every penny (and probably far more in my opinion!)
I’d HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone. Both the company and my tour guide Greg were simply outstanding and I couldn’t have hoped for anything better!!
